The Walk of Fame Africa Induction Events

Event Overview

The Goal

A part of the Walk of Fame Awards (WOFA) is the Awarding Events, a public event that appreciates exceptional professionals in their field.

This event is open to the public. Who are these exceptional professionals? And who decides they are exceptional? Well, you do. As the public, you can nominate an actor, activist, painter, photographer, or any professional who is outstanding in their field, to win an award (here). We like to call these ‘exceptional professionals’, Golden Stars.

After being nominated, the WOFA Selection Panelist, an unbiased team of talents, will look through the nominee’s story, achievements, and values, and verify that the nominee is truly a Golden Star. Regardless of the number of nominations sent, the Golden Star will be chosen based on those three attributes;

  1. The Story; This category focuses on the Golden Star’s relations with others. The Story verifies the impact the nominee’s work has had on our society.
  2. The Achievements; to be a Golden Star requires one to be exceptional. The Selection Panel will be looking to see what strides, changes, or success the Golden Star has had in its respective industries/ professional fields.
  3. The Values; this is a much more personal category. The Selection Panel will assess the beliefs and values of the nominees based on their actions and words. The nominee’s Values must align with those of the Walk of Fame Africa.

This is what makes a Golden Star; a story that inspires, achievements that carry the industry forward, and values that build the society.

After the Golden Star (chosen by the Selection Panel) accepts the award, the team proceeds to plan the Awarding Event.

There is only one goal to the event; appreciation. To say thank you to the Golden Star for the impact they’ve had in our lives. On this day, the star is issued:

  1.  The Golden Foot Award for them to take home; so that they never forget how important they are to us in our continent, history, and industry.
  2.  The Golden Foot Plaque that is laid on the streets of Nairobi; acts as a reminder of the footsteps we follow.

WOFA will never forget our heroes, heroines, pioneers, and renegades. WOFA will tell their stories and inspire young generations to aspire for more. WOFA will appreciate the footsteps set before us to guide us to greatness. We are Walk of Fame Africa.
